My Korean heritage and cultural viewpoint are significant inspirations for my work. As a daughter of a tea master in a traditional family, I have seen and learned how to follow and appreciate traditions. My work metamorphoses and gives new life to strictly prescribed traditional vessel formats.
I create small-scale sculptural vessels that express my personal emotions and reactions to the traditional vessel. Emotions, while often transitory, can be extremely momentous and intimate. Using this delicate process, I strive to capture their power through the vessels.

I have long been intrigued by the atypical beauty found in all that surrounds me. This led me to study the lines and elements of design to create altered vessel forms. My approach grew from my surroundings and personal experiences. Countless stories and emotions have floated around me. I have gathered their intimate segments and infused these images into the work.

I attempt to reinterpret and recreate forms using my struggle to break tradition as the method of dissecting my vessels. I use porcelain for the beauty of its softness, quietness and warmth. These porcelain vessels capture and express my emotions, memories and desires.
